What types of projects do RTL Design Interns typically work on during their internship?

As an RTL Design Intern, you’ll often assist with designing and verifying digital circuits at the Register Transfer Level, which involves writing and debugging HDL code (such as Verilog or VHDL), running simulations, and supporting the integration of modules into larger systems. Interns usually work on real project tasks alongside experienced design engineers, contributing to blocks or subsystems that may be used in actual chip products. This hands-on experience allows you to develop technical skills, learn industry-standard tools, and gain exposure to the collaborative workflow between design, verification, and validation teams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an RTL Design Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as an RTL Design Intern, you need a solid understanding of digital logic design, computer architecture, and proficiency in hardware description languages like Verilog or VHDL, usually supported by coursework in electrical or computer engineering. Familiarity with simulation tools (such as ModelSim or Synopsys VCS), version control systems (like Git), and debugging environments is highly valuable. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you collaborate with senior engineers and interpret design requirements. These skills are crucial for producing accurate, efficient RTL code and contributing effectively to complex hardware design projects.

What does an RTL Design Intern do?

An RTL (Register Transfer Level) Design Intern assists in the hardware design process by writing and verifying digital circuits using hardware description languages like Verilog or VHDL. Their primary role is to help develop, simulate, and debug design blocks that will eventually be implemented on chips such as FPGAs or ASICs. Interns typically work under the supervision of experienced engineers, contributing to design documentation, running testbenches, and ensuring designs meet specifications. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience in digital design, verification, and understanding the full hardware development lifecycle.

Job description

At Industrial Scientific, we have dedicated our careers to eliminating death on the job by the year 2050. As a global leader in gas detection and connected safety solutions, we protect workers in the world's most hazardous environments-from deep-sea mines to the International Space Station. Our culture is built on being Humble, Hungry, and Smart, and we believe that serving others is our greatest joy.

The Role

We are looking for a high-energy, detail-oriented Sales Coordination Intern to join our team. You won't just be "helping out"-you will be the engine that allows our sales team to move faster and reach more people with life-saving technology. This is an administrative and operational role designed for someone who wants to understand the inner workings of a global B2B sales organization.

Your Responsibilities

As a Sales Coordination Intern, you will support the sales team through several key pillars:

  • CRM & Data Stewardship: Maintain and audit our CRM (Salesforce) to ensure lead data, account ownership, and contact details are pristine.
  • Sales Enablement: Help prepare customer-facing materials, including slide decks, case studies, and technical whitepapers, tailored to specific industries like Mining, Oil & Gas, or Manufacturing.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with the drafting of sales quotes, NDAs, and basic service agreements.
  • Pipeline Management: Support Sales Managers in tracking deal progress and ensuring that no lead is left without a follow-up.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct research on industry trends and competitor movements to help our team refine their value proposition.
  • Customer Experience: Act as a bridge between Sales and Customer Success to ensure a smooth handoff once a life-saving solution is sold.

Who You Are

  • Education: You are a student or recent graduate in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
  • Languages: You are fluent in both Arabic and English.
  • The Mission Matters: You are motivated by the idea of working for a company that saves lives.
  • Tech Savvy: You have a high comfort level with Excel and a curiosity for learning CRM tools (Salesforce/HubSpot).
  • Detail Obsessed: You catch the typo that everyone else missed and take pride in "clean" data.
  • Humble, Hungry, and Smart: You are eager to learn, willing to take on "un-glamorous" tasks to help the team win, and possess the emotional intelligence to work with diverse global teams.

What You'll Gain

  • Direct mentorship from seasoned sales leaders in the industrial safety space.
  • Hands-on experience with industry-standard sales tech stacks.
  • A deep understanding of the "Safety-as-a-Service" business model.
  • A chance to contribute to a company with a 40-year legacy of innovation.

Note to Applicants:

  • This internship is unpaid and is designed to provide hands-on experience and learning opportunities rather than financial compensation.
