Overview

Machinery Diagnostics Field Engineer/ Rotating Equipment Field Engineer

We are seeking a Field Engineer to provide complete service solutions for rotating machinery assets, protection, and monitoring systems. The role includes evaluating machinery condition based on rotor dynamics analysis and delivering high levels of customer service in collaboration with Cordant™ from Baker Hughes, supporting pre-commissioning, commissioning, and maintenance activities across oil & gas, chemical, power generation and other process industries.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose machinery problems based on vibration data, operational data, and customer communications.
  • Travel to customer sites to provide on-site support and service.
  • Complete timely reports that identify findings and provide recommendations to customers.
  • Build relationships with customers to deliver a high level of service and act as a trusted advisor for their rotating equipment health.
  • Calculate and oversee placement of balance weights.
  • Apply Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering is a plus).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with rotating equipment or machinery (e.g., compressors, steam turbines, gas turbines, pumps, fans, blowers).
  • Available for extensive travel (up to 70%) and significant overtime (paid).
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and passport (or ability to obtain).
  • Eligible to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential).
  • Eligible to travel overseas and/or work on offshore platforms on occasion.
Desired Characteristics
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of reliability services.
  • ISO certification for vibration analysis.
  • Demonstrated authority and assurance in dealing with people.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and strong project management skills.
  • Solid computer skills using MS Office.
  • Knowledge of machinery protection and management systems.
  • Knowledge of or experience with mechanical vibration, rotating machinery vibration and/or diagnostics, rotordynamics, PdM data acquisition/evaluation, machinery balancing and alignment.
  • Knowledge of Bently Nevada products and Cordant services.
  • Basic familiarity with computer network systems.

Pay range: The annual pay scale for this position is between $75,240.00 and $163,120.00, depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
