Job description

The Category Management and Procurement Rotational Program is a 12-month, full-time development experience designed to build early-career professionals with a strong foundation in category strategy, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement operations.
Through three structured rotations across Category Management, Direct Procurement, and Indirect Procurement, associates gain direct exposure to how QXO drives commercial performance, manages supplier partnerships, and optimizes purchasing strategies across the business. Associates contribute to meaningful business initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and develop the analytical, operational, and strategic skills needed to support QXO's commercial and operational priorities.
The program combines hands-on experience, targeted development, and a capstone project that gives you increasing responsibility over time. Associates who successfully complete the program are eligible for full-time placement in a role within category management, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain operations, based on business needs, individual performance, and demonstrated career interests.
QXO, Inc. (NYSE: QXO) is the largest publicly traded distributor of roofing, waterproofing, and related products, and the second largest publicly traded distributor of lumber and building materials in North America. QXO is the fastest growing company in the $800 billion building products distribution industry and plans to become the tech-enabled leader by delivering best-in-class customer satisfaction and outsized returns for its shareholders. The company is targeting $50 billion in annual revenues within the next decade through accretive acquisitions and organic growth.
What you'll do:
Each rotation is structured to build broad commercial and operational knowledge while giving you real ownership of meaningful work.
  • Lead category strategy and procurement initiatives through market research, spend analysis, supplier evaluations, and competitive benchmarking, applying independent judgment to identify opportunities and recommend courses of action
  • Manage strategic sourcing activities across direct and indirect spend categories, including RFx processes - RFI, RFP, and RFQ - and supplier negotiations, exercising discretion in evaluating supplier proposals and outcomes
  • Analyze spend data, cost structures, and supplier performance metrics to identify savings opportunities and operational improvements, and present findings and recommendations directly to stakeholders and program leaders
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including operations, finance, supply chain, and commercial teams to advance business objectives and sourcing strategies, independently managing assigned workstreams and deliverables
  • Develop data-driven insights and project recommendations across each rotation, taking accountability for quality, accuracy, and the business impact of your work

Across every rotation, you will receive defined objectives, regular feedback, and direct mentorship to support your growth and performance.
What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Operations, Economics, Analytics, or a related field; candidates with up to one to two years of relevant experience are welcome
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to evaluate operational and financial data with accuracy
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly present data, insights, and recommendations to business partners and leadership
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams, meet deadlines, and contribute to decisions on matters of significance
  • Genuine interest in building a long-term career in category management, procurement, supply chain, or operations

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Internship, co-op, or project experience in supply chain, operations, logistics, procurement, or manufacturing
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel) or exposure to supply chain systems (ERP, planning tools)
  • Demonstrated business mindset with a focus on operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and customer outcomes

What you'll earn
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • PTO, company holidays, and parental leave
  • Paid training and certifications
  • Legal assistance and identity protection
  • Pet insurance
  • Employee assistance program (EAP)
