Job Description

To fulfill our mission by assisting with the facilitation of the Retreat guest experience from first contact through the on-site experience, through programming, including overseeing the efficient operation of the guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with all administrative tasks for Retreat groups such as, but not limited to: pre-trip booking, post-group debriefing, follow up, surveys, billing and collecting payments, preparing and receiving contracts and deposit forms, schedules, etc.

  • Manage all logistics sheets, which share information with staff about retreat groups and scheduling. Assign names to each shift slot for each week of retreat groups.

  • Manage the Hosts and Retreat RA’s to ensure that all onsite aspects of a retreat are done smoothly, on time, and to a high guest-service standard.

  • Completely weekly or biweekly 1-1’s with direct reports (Hosts and Retreat’s RAs) to promote open communication and opportunities for growth.

  • Ensure the creation and maintenance of all assigned group information in Salesforce to include creating and managing opportunities, accounts, and contacts, as necessary.

  • Perform quality control by walking all guest spaces and rooms prior to guest arrival to ensure cleanliness, correct set-up, and an excellent guest experience.

  • Assist the Retreat Manager with budget, sales, marketing, strategic change management in the department as assigned.

  • Collaborate with housekeeping, food service, grounds, and maintenance to prepare spaces and property for guests.

  • Manage all aspects of quality control during the Retreat season (housekeeping, retail, activities, etc.) to ensure guest retention and maximize guest experience

  • Form authentic relationships with group sponsors and leaders, teachers, future guests, and staff (full-time, summer staff, and interns)

  • Facilitate all aspects of tours for future guests

  • Assist with the facilitation of Community Day including advertising, promoting, staffing, executing the event

  • Follow all systems and processes that aid all aspects of wonderful retreat guest experiences

  • Host groups and events on a rotation with other Retreat staff

Qualifications

  • A vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to scripture and will continue to pursue that further

  • Strong sense of hospitality and customer service

  • High degree comfortability with phone calls, emails, guest interaction, and public speaking

  • College Degree or higher is preferred

  • Ability to use technological systems at Camp proficiently

  • Proficiency in spreadsheets

  • Experience with Salesforce

  • Ability to work long hours

  • Ability to confront, encourage, and inspire staff towards excellence in their work

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with high attention to detail

  • Experience with event planning or the equivalent is highly desired

  • High level of managing details for up to 40 events at one time

  • Ability to manage, delegate and respond to situations in a Christ-centered way

  • Willingness to learn new skills

  • Ability to be flexible with time-off and new policies

  • Ability to problem solve and be flexible and adaptable with the changing and developing needs of guests and handle the resulting actions with speed and kindness

Compensation and Benefits

Starting pay is $15.20/hour. Compensation is hourly with overtime pay.

  • On-site housing with utilities and appliances included

  • Medical coverage through CHM, employer funded HRA, and pharmacy benefit plan - 100% paid by employer for employee and spouse

  • PTO - base amount of 20 days annually, sick leave, and volunteer time off

  • Retirement - After 1 year of employment, employer contributes 4% NEC and up to 4% matched

  • Camp program and retail discounts, including a free session of camp annually, friends and family lodging options and use of camp facilities for personal gatherings

  • On-site meals for employee and family during the summer and special occasions
