Who you'll work with

The Analyst, Product Concept Development supports the Director and broader product development team by helping document early-stage annuity product concepts into clear, structured product specifications. The individual retirement product development team is responsible for determining the "what" and the "why" of the solutions we choose to bring to market.

About the Role

The Analyst, Product Concept Development supports the Director and broader product development team by helping document early-stage annuity product concepts into clear, structured product specifications. This role assists cross-functional teams by tracking design details, maintaining comprehensive decision logs, and formatting technical documentation to ensure concepts are organized for implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes product documentation to improve clarity and team readiness before files move downstream.
  • Maintains precise project files to assist teams in identifying basic design gaps and dependencies early.
  • Supports the Director and cross-functional teams by keeping product specifications and supporting files up-to-date.
  • Preserves history logs so future enhancements and business decisions are clearly recorded.
  • Assist the Director and product leadership by capturing information from product discussions, scoping documents, meeting notes, and stakeholder inputs.
  • Draft and update clear product specifications using established templates to document features, assumptions, and open questions.
  • Log and track open issues, conflicts, and items requiring clarification from cross-functional partners.
  • Review draft documentation for formatting consistency, spotting clear administrative complexities or edge cases.
  • Maintain organized, searchable files of team decisions, design rationale, and unresolved questions.
  • Compile data and documentation variations to help the Director evaluate different options.
  • Provide administrative support during downstream implementation, launch preparation, and post-launch reviews.
  • Coordinate with business analysts to deliver completed documentation packages to cross-functional teams.
  • Product ideas are accurately transcribed into standard templates, resulting in fewer basic questions from downstream teams.
  • Meeting minutes, action items, and open project risks are updated regularly and escalated quickly.
  • Cross-functional partners view this role as a reliable coordinator who keeps files organized and accessible.
  • Project history logs are kept tidy, complete, and easy to search.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, communications, economics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of professional office experience (financial services, insurance, or documentation internships preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of annuity products or a strong willingness to learn the retirement industry.
  • Strong written communication and editing skills, with a focus on formatting and clarity.
  • Good collaboration habits and the ability to work supportively across multiple team functions.
  • Detail-oriented approach with the ability to maintain accurate records, templates, and supporting files.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience writing basic business requirements, meeting summaries, or project documentation.
  • Familiarity with standard spreadsheet, word processing, and collaboration software (e.g., MS Office, Confluence, SharePoint). AI skills
  • Exposure to financial, legal, compliance, or operational administrative workflows.
  • Interest in learning product development, implementation readiness, and annuity product lifecycle processes.
