We are looking for highly motivated graduate students or recent graduates who are passionate about AI, robotics, autonomous systems, and customer-facing engineering. This internship is designed as a pathway to a full-time Application Engineer/Solutions Engineer role upon successful completion.
 
Role Summary
 
As an Application Engineering Intern, you will work directly with customers developing robotic platforms, autonomous drones, and AI-powered edge applications on the SiMa Modalix platform. You will help bridge the gap between advanced AI technology and real-world deployment by assisting customers in integrating, optimizing, and scaling their solutions. This role combines software engineering, AI systems, robotics, and customer engagement, making it ideal for candidates who enjoy both technical problem-solving and working closely with users.
 
Key Responsibilities 
  • Collaborate with customers developing robotics, drone, and autonomous system applications.
  • Build and demonstrate reference solutions on the SiMa Modalix platform.
  • Assist customers with integrating AI models, agents, perception pipelines, and robotics frameworks.
  • Develop prototypes, sample applications, and technical demonstrations.
  • Troubleshoot deployment, performance, and integration challenges.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Field teams to provide customer feedback and help shape product direction.
  • Create technical documentation, tutorials, and onboarding materials.
  • Support proof-of-concept (POC) activities and customer evaluations.
  • Explore and implement AI agent workflows for real-world robotics and automation use cases.
 
Required Qualifications 
  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or a recent graduate (within the last two years).
  • Strong programming skills in Python and C++.
  • Experience developing software for robotics, autonomous systems, or AI applications.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, or similar.
  • Understanding of AI agents, agentic workflows, LLM-based systems, or autonomous decision-making frameworks.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
