What is a remote internship at a think tank?

A remote internship at a think tank is a temporary, project-based position where interns contribute to research, analysis, and policy work from a remote location rather than working on-site. Interns may assist with tasks such as data collection, literature reviews, report writing, and event planning, all while collaborating with staff through digital platforms. These internships offer valuable experience in policy research, networking opportunities, and an understanding of the inner workings of think tanks, all without the need to relocate.

What kinds of projects or tasks can I expect to work on during a remote internship at a think tank?

As a remote intern at a think tank, you can expect to be involved in a variety of research-based projects such as literature reviews, data collection and analysis, drafting policy briefs, and assisting with event planning or outreach. Interns frequently collaborate with research fellows and policy analysts, contributing to ongoing studies or publications. The work environment is typically collaborative and fast-paced, with regular virtual meetings and mentorship. You'll also gain exposure to the policy development process and may have opportunities to attend webinars or virtual networking events.
