Job description

Engineering Analytics, now part of MacKay, is seeking a motivated and relationship-focused full-time Project Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA.ย  This role will have a mix of office and field-based responsibilities across a broad range of multi-year projects within aerospace, water treatment, and more. We are open to this Engineer being located in Los Angeles in a remote capacity to support our clients.

This Project Engineer will travel approximately 50% of the time in Southern California.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construction management/inspection activities
  • Design of water, wastewater, and other infrastructure systems and facilities
  • Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of groundwater/wastewater projects
  • Support project managers with client relations, stakeholder management, and sub-consultant coordination
  • Industrial Process Control and Control Systems Design
  • Assist in proposal preparation, including oral presentations.ย 
  • Prepare the scope, schedule, and budget for new projects
  • Work within a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of projects
  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish
  • Review submittals and RFIs, prepareย  designs for a variety of projects, keeping within budget and meeting timelines/milestones

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in water, wastewater, and stormwater project designย 
  • At least one year of experience in field construction oversight
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Civil Engineering
  • Ability to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to learn and adapt
  • Ability to manage several project tasks concurrently
  • Ability to work independently on construction sites
  • Solid organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with multi-disciplinary team members

Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Project Management platforms such as ACC
  • Experience with scheduling software such as Primavera P6
  • California P.E. license or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe
