We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team at Bloomingdale Psychotherapy Center, located in Spokane, Washington. This role is rooted in a remote work setting, allowing for flexibility and a conducive environment for focused counseling. While the counselor primarily works from home, there will be integral interactions with patients in an outpatient office, necessitating collaboration with correctional staff and other mental health professionals. Tools such as secure telehealth platforms will be employed to facilitate patient interactions, alongside necessary documentation systems to maintain compliance and optimize care delivery.

The Senior Licensed Mental Health Counselor will engage in a variety of essential tasks, including but not limited to:

• Conducting thorough mental health evaluations, crisis interventions, and follow-up assessments to address inmates' immediate and ongoing psychological needs.
• Coordinating with correctional and healthcare teams to determine the appropriate level of care for each individual, ensuring seamless access to mental health services.
• Facilitating group therapy sessions focused on mental health issues while actively participating in treatment planning and case discussions.
• Documenting clinical interactions as per institutional protocols and maintaining accurate statistical reports for program evaluation and improvement.
• Engaging regularly in clinical supervision sessions to enhance professional practice and participate actively in interdepartmental mental health and medical rounds.
• Providing mentorship and oversight for interns or student volunteers, fostering their professional development as future mental health professionals.
• Responding to emergencies with appropriate crisis intervention techniques while developing safety and care plans that promote patient stability.

This position focuses on working with incarcerated individuals who often face substantial behavioral health challenges, including substance use disorders and severe mental illnesses. The mental health counselor will be pivotal in addressing the complexities of each client's needs, leveraging diagnostic and therapeutic skills to foster resilience and improvement in their mental health status.

• A valid license such as LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Washington is required.
• A Master's degree or doctorate in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of two years of full-time, paid, professional experience in direct client care within a behavioral health setting.
• At least three additional years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting.

• Experience with assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of therapeutic techniques tailored to individuals with behavioral problems, severe mental illnesses, and histories of substance use.
• Familiarity with correctional health systems and inpatient or outpatient mental health services.

This position offers a competitive annual salary in the range of USD 115,000 to 130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
