We currently have an opportunity for a Payroll Manager working remote through our corporate Headquarters.

Responsibilities

The Payroll Manager will report to the Director of HR Systems and Workforce Analytics and be responsible for managing direct reports. The Payroll Manager should be a skilled payroll professional that is proficient with current payroll practices, vendor systems, and maintains up to date knowledge on compliance requirements. The Payroll Manager will be required to use his or her analytical skills to understand database structures and interdependencies as well as have the skill level to translate management requirements into specifications for payroll reports. This role is required to collaborate with cross-functional teams as well as external contacts. The Payroll Manager will also be responsible for training payroll users as well as managing the hourly and salary payroll.   • Oversee and reinforce payroll internal controls, ensuring compliance with internal audit requirements, external audit requests, and SOX controls where applicable.
  • Performs periodic internal audits of various payroll areas and prepare materials for external or internal auditors.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, including oversight of tax filings, amendments, reconciliations, and agency inquiries; anticipating legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve complex payroll issues while minimizing employee impact and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Administer and oversee payroll-related processing of long-term incentive programs, including equity vesting events, performance share payouts, tax withholding, payroll reporting, reconciliations, and coordination with Compensation, Finance, and third-party equity plan administrators to ensure accurate and compliant execution of all LTI transactions.
  • Responsible for providing data and reports to be compliant with federal regulations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing by ensuring appropriate procedures are in place for all payroll cycle events and proper audit steps are followed each processing period.
  • Respond to Leadership, HR and other user requests for a variety of on-demand human resources reports
  • Work with Database Administrator to ensure the data structure (foundation tables, codes, field values, etc) in the payroll system meets the business needs. Ensure changing compliance requirements are reflected in procedures and communicated to system users.
  • Accurately completes intercompany transfers by coordinating with business counterparts.
  • Responsible for monitoring HRIS/payroll data accuracy by implementing audits, procedures, and updating processes as necessary.
  • Ensures field HR has knowledge and tools required for compliant payroll processes.
  • Ensures the accurate processing of merit increase and incentive pay for both hourly and salary employees.
  • Supports HR Field and Corporate team with mass changes.
  • Oversees the accurate and timely processing of assigned multi-state payroll and any special or bonus payrolls.
  • Manage complex multi-state payroll operations ensuring compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws, garnishments, taxation requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Continuously evaluate payroll processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, compliance, accuracy, and employee experience through process enhancements and technology solutions.
  • Partner with HR, Total Rewards, Finance, Legal, and other business stakeholders to ensure payroll processes are aligned with company policies, compensation programs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for managing direct reports; ensuring specialist develop to be subject matter experts and able to embody RCP Most Valued Behaviors
  • Assist all locations with questions related to Payroll.
  • Confidentiality is a key part of this role; employee information should be kept private as required by pertinent laws and regulations.
  • Participate on project teams as required.

Qualifications

Education

  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Accounting or related field.
  • MBA or other advanced degree a plus.

Experience

  • 6+ years of professional payroll processing experience.
  • Prior experience with ADP Vantage preferred
  • Prior team management experience combined with a proven track record of developing, coaching and mentoring a diverse staff.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient in MS Office with high proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with ADP preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Knowledge of applicable state, federal, local employment labor laws and regulations.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills.
  • Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.
  • Ability to be discreet with confidential information.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
  • Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.
