You will utilize advanced case management software to maintain electronic medical records and facilitate communication with interdisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless coordination of care.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your essential responsibilities include:

• Helping patients and their families navigate the psychological and environmental challenges associated with illness through comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions.
• Managing a varied caseload with different levels of clinical acuity independently, allowing you to develop personalized treatment plans based on individual needs.
• Conducting intake assessments and psychosocial evaluations for patients upon admission and as clinically indicated, identifying barriers to care and addressing psychosocial challenges.
• Providing supportive counseling, grief counseling, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation to empower patients and families in understanding and coping with mental health diagnoses and treatment options.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary health care teams during case conferences and rounds to develop and implement psychosocial treatment strategies that promote positive patient outcomes.
• Contributing to quality assurance initiatives by evaluating social work services, providing feedback on policies, and participating in community improvement efforts.
• Supervising MSWs and student interns through individual and group clinical supervision, nurturing the next generation of mental health professionals.
• Maintaining accurate documentation of treatment progress and outcomes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and standards.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC in California.
• Strong knowledge of assessment tools, interviewing techniques, and therapeutic modalities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to produce detailed case narratives and reports.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with best practices in mental health counseling.

While not mandatory, candidates with the following experience will be given preference:

• Previous work in a community health setting, particularly with diverse populations.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, enhancing documentation and treatment planning processes.
• Background in trauma-informed care or other specialized therapeutic approaches.
