• Collaborate closely with the Department of Correction and other institutional programs to facilitate patient access, treatment disposition, and appropriate housing arrangements.
• Design and implement group therapy sessions on mental health observation units, ensuring that sessions are tailored to the specific needs of participants.
• Carry out comprehensive mental health evaluations and crisis interventions, assessing patients to determine appropriate treatment pathways and follow-up plans.
• Document patient interactions meticulously, participating in weekly clinical supervision sessions to maintain professional standards and support ongoing development.
• Engage actively in mental health and medical rounds and case conferences, contributing insights to treatment planning for both current and prospective patients.
• Supervise social work interns and student volunteers if designated, providing mentorship and guidance throughout their clinical experiences.
• Coordinate with Reentry Social Workers to develop effective discharge planning services, ensuring seamless transitions for patients receiving mental health care.
• Generate and complete necessary statistical reports as part of our continuous monitoring and evaluation processes.

The primary patient population includes children and adolescents facing a range of mental health challenges. • A master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field is required.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California is essential.
• Demonstrated strong clinical skills, with the ability to establish rapport and trust with elementary, middle, or high school-aged patients.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, key for effective collaboration with colleagues and interaction with students and families.
