The Lead Data Engineer oversees data processing architectures and solutions ensuring the efficient conversion of structured and unstructured data to insights at enterprise scale. You will work on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial. You will report to the Director, Business Intelligence.
• You will ingest data from internal and external sources using cloud native platforms and software development best practices and patterns.
• You will develop software tools using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data to turn data into insights that improve member outcomes.
• You will exercise decision-making on complex issues regarding job responsibilities and related tasks, requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
• You will lead the development of PCO Analytics' data warehouse using Medallion architecture and Kimball modeling to deliver optimized, business-ready data marts and star schemas for analytics.
• You will lead the Information Architecture of PCO Analytics, establishing well-governed processes to ensure holistic metadata, reference data management, ontologies, and semantic layers.
• You will collaborate with partners to develop data governance frameworks and standards.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of technical experience in data engineering OR Master's degree and 4+ years of experience.
• Expertise in Medallion architecture and Kimball dimensional modeling.
• Experience integrating semantic and organizational data assets with leading AI platforms.
• 2+ years of project leadership experience.
• Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations.
• Advanced in SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, or other data systems.
• 2+ years' experience in dbt.
• Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data.
• Ability to work within the EST time zone.

Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Experience creating analytics solutions for several healthcare sectors.
• Cloud certification in leading cloud or AI platform such as Snowflake, Azure, Databricks, AWS, or GCP.
Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$142,300 - $195,700 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
