Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing grief and loss counseling, guiding residents and their families through the complex process of end-of-life issues and bereavement.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and treatment progress within our electronic health record system.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on elderly clients who often face unique challenges such as loss of loved ones, lifestyle changes, and health-related issues. You will approach each individual with sensitivity and respect, utilizing your expertise to foster trust and rapport. The emphasis will be on creating a supportive environment that encourages emotional exploration and healing.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you must possess the following:

  • A Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related field.
  • Evidence of completion of a full-time clinical internship within a relevant mental health setting.
  • Eligibility for mental health licensure in the state of Florida, with active pursuit of licensure preferred.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license with a clean driving record to facilitate travel for assessments as needed.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills essential for establishing trust and building rapport with clients and families.
  • Strong listening and empathy skills combined with the capacity to guide clients through emotional challenges.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to stay organized in documentation and scheduling.
Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will have a depth of experience in mental health settings, particularly with a focus on geriatric populations. Familiarity with addiction counseling strategies and cultural sensitivity will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Experience with therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or person-centered therapy will be beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive annual salary range of $70,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience, along with a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. Additional benefits include:

  • Monthly productivity bonuses, rewarding your hard work and dedication.
  • Access to continued professional development, including training and certification opportunities.
  • Supervision and mentorship programs designed to support your ongoing growth as a mental health professional.
  • A collaborative team environment, making you feel connected and valued.
  • Flexible scheduling options to accommodate your personal life.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and sick leave, promoting your well-being and work-life balance.
