Job description

We're seeking a Business Development Manager to lead growth of the nVent CADDY Fire & Seismic business across the Southwest region, with a primary focus on Southern California. This is an opportunity to help grow one of nVent's key construction-focused product portfolios by working at the intersection of engineering, commercial construction, and business development. You'll play a meaningful role in expanding our presence across some of North America's most active construction markets while helping customers solve complex fire protection and seismic challenges.
** This posting is for one position supporting Southern CA, NV, AZ, UT, and TX. This is a fully remote, individual contributor role, with a preferred location in the Los Angeles, CA metro area and up to 60% overnight travel across the region. **
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
  • Grow assigned product categories by finding opportunities, managing the sales pipeline, and delivering regional growth.
  • Partner with contractors, specifying engineers, manufacturers' representatives, and other project partners to influence project specifications and expand adoption of nVent CADDY solutions.
  • Help customers evaluate seismic bracing applications, design approaches, and product solutions that support fire protection, mechanical, electrical, and data infrastructure systems.
  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and training to audiences ranging from field installers and project engineers to contractors and business owners.
  • Support adoption of nVent's seismic design software and other tools that simplify design and installation.
  • Gather customer feedback, competitor insights, and market trends to shape future products and growth strategies.
  • Partner with product management, marketing, engineering, and sales teams to support new product introductions and market expansion initiatives.

YOU HAVE:
  • Bachelor's (B.A. or B.S.) degree required, with a preference for Engineering or another technical field.
  • Ideally 5+ years of experience managing a sales territory or region in a technical sales, sales engineering, application engineering, business development, or related customer-facing role.
  • Experience supporting commercial construction projects involving fire protection, mechanical, electrical, structural, or related building systems.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts with contractors, engineers, field personnel, business owners, and executive partners.
  • Experience influencing project decisions and building customer confidence through technical expertise and consultative engagement.
  • Familiarity with building codes, construction standards, and/or engineering specifications is preferred.
  • Experience managing opportunities and customer activities through Salesforce or a similar CRM platform.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% overnight throughout the region.

Pay Transparency
nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of total target cash pay for this job and the employee's work location. Total target cash is comprised of an employee's base salary and sales incentive target opportunity, when annual sales goals are achieved.
Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
If annual sales performance exceeds annual sales goals, the total target cash received may exceed the pay scale maximum reflected below.
Total Target Cash Range:
Geographic Region A: $101,400.00 - $188,300.00 +
Geographic Region B: $110,600.00 - $205,400.00 +
Geographic Region C: $96,300.00 - $178,800.00 +
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
