What is a remote equity research internship?

A remote equity research internship is a position where interns work from a remote location to assist analysts or research teams in evaluating publicly traded companies and their stocks. Interns typically analyze financial statements, build valuation models, and prepare research reports to support investment decisions. This role provides hands-on experience in the finance industry and helps interns develop analytical, quantitative, and communication skills. It is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in investment banking, asset management, or related fields.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote equity research intern?

To excel in a remote equity research internship, you need a solid grounding in finance, accounting, and quantitative analysis, often supported by coursework in economics or business. Familiarity with financial modeling tools, Excel, and platforms like Bloomberg Terminal or FactSet is typically required. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective written communication help you stand out in synthesizing data and presenting findings. These skills and qualities are crucial for delivering accurate investment insights and collaborating effectively in a remote, fast-paced environment.

How do remote equity research interns typically collaborate with team members and access necessary resources?

Remote equity research interns often work closely with analysts and associates through virtual meetings, shared documents, and regular check-ins. Communication platforms like Slack, Zoom, and email are heavily used to ensure interns can ask questions, discuss findings, and receive feedback. Access to proprietary financial databases and research tools is typically granted through secure company portals, with IT support available to resolve technical issues. • Established relationships with multi-strategy hedge funds, long-only hedge funds, CIOs, portfolio managers and other buy-side decision-makers
  • Proven ability to originate business, monetize relationships and consistently grow revenue
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Strong proficiency with Bloomberg and Outlook
  • Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation and client service skills

  • 15 days of vacation annually & 5 paid sick days annually
  • Significant commission-based earning potential with substantial compensation growth tied directly to performance
  • Flexible work options with the ability to work remotely or from offices in New York or Chicago

If you have the institutional relationships, market credibility and drive to turn a differentiated platform into meaningful revenue, apply today and build the next stage of your career around the network you've worked hard to create.
