Compensation Range

$200.00-$350.00/hr. (depending on level and location)

Position Summary

The Psychiatrist is primarily responsible for clinical supervision and oversight of psychiatric nurse practitioners, conducting psychiatric evaluations, medication consultation and collaboration with community prescribers.

This is a remote position however you must be a Board Eligible or Board-Certified Psychiatrist in California. All necessary requirements must be met to practice adult psychiatry in the state ofย California.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical supervision and oversight to psychiatric nurse practitioners in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Reviews and co-sign documentation as required by law and organizational policy.
  • Conducts psychiatric evaluations for individuals enrolled in the PHP.
  • Provides medication management services for individuals enrolled in PHP as needed. Available at least weekly and by telephone in unusual or urgent situations related to medication.
  • Directs and collaborates with staff on clinical activities and interventions.
  • Provides consultation to community referrals as needed to ensure successful disposition of former patients.
  • Completes medical record and other documentation in a timely and accurate manner as needed to meet clinical, payer and other requirements.
  • Participates in marketing and outreach events on occasion.
  • Perform other activities as requested by the Director and assume other appropriate medical responsibilities as necessary

Education and Experience

  • Board Eligible or Board-Certified Psychiatrist. All necessary requirements must be met to practice adult psychiatry in the state of California.
  • Experience with mental health PHP/IOPย and/or psychiatric hospital experience desired.
  • Superior communication skills working with patients, family members, community stakeholders and staff.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of management experience in a behavioral health setting such as a hospital, outpatient clinic, or related service provider required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience treating the adult population in mental health. Experience with co-occurring disorders and/or substance use disorders a plus.
  • Performs duties independently, responsibly and with a high level of integrity
