Job Description:
Parsons is looking for a talented Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team full-time to support one of the many large transformative transportation projects that we have either won, are currently pursuing, or will pursue across the nation.
Some of the larger projects are located in the states of:
  • Tennessee
  • Georgia
  • North Carolina
  • Virginia
  • Indiana

In this role, you will help deliver the design for projects that have a construction value greater than $1 billion, and in turn assist in enhancing the mobility, safety, and reliability for communities who live along and travel through these critical corridors. This position is remote, and the selected candidate will have flexibility in work location while still supporting virtual collaboration with Parsons teams.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Work with a team of engineers and technicians to design and produce a variety of traffic engineering plans and reports.
  • Help to deliver traffic signal design, signing, striping, lighting and traffic control plans along with quantity tabulation.
  • Assist with analysis, design and implementation of projects such as corridor studies, traffic impact studies, alternative intersection design, and traffic operational analysis.
  • Provide support for other engineering activities as required. May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.
  • May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project.
  • Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
  • Take part in Parsons' quality management plan to implement QA/QC procedures.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field).
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in traffic/transportation engineering.
  • Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with traffic engineering is required.
  • Microstation or AutoCAD proficiency is a must.
  • Adept understanding of methodologies of Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and Signal Warrant studies.
  • SYCHRO, HCS, VISSIM and SIDRA combination of expertise is required.
  • Knowledge of roadway lighting design including photometric analysis is also highly desirable but not required.
  • PE registration is highly preferred.
  • PTOE certification is highly preferred

Salary Range: $88,400.00 - $154,700.00
