SUMMARY:
The Test Automation Engineer supports XedaLink's quality practice by building, maintaining, and improving automated tests for web applications, APIs, and integrations. This hands-on role works within the automation strategy defined by QA leadership and partners with QA, product, and engineering teams to validate product quality throughout the SDLC. The successful candidate brings a strong QA foundation, practical automation experience, and the ability to translate requirements and acceptance criteria into reliable automated coverage using modern testing tools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Automation Development & Maintenance:
    • Develop, maintain, and enhance automated tests and supporting framework components for UI, API, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing
    • Execute automated test suites and support automated test integration within CI/CD pipelines as directed by QA leadership
    • Identify practical opportunities to expand or improve automation coverage in alignment with the QA automation strategy
  • Hands-On Testing & Analysis
    • Using testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Playwright, and Postman, write and maintain reliable automated tests
    • Debug and analyze test failures, isolate defects, and report clear issues to product and engineering for resolution
    • Maintain test data, test environments, and test results documentation to support release readiness
  • Quality Partnership
    • Apply QA best practices in test design, test automation, defect management, and release validation
    • Participate in sprint ceremonies, refinement, planning, and release readiness discussions by providing quality-focused input
    • Collaborate with QA leadership, developers, product managers, and QA testers to support quality goals and continuous improvement

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 3+ years of quality assurance experience, including 2+ years of hands-on test automation experience, preferably in a SaaS environment and/or in the financial services/fintech industry
  • Experience in Agile Scrum/Agile Development and automation testing methodologies with a focus on test execution, test planning, documenting test results, release and change management processes, and defect management activities
  • Experience with automated regression, functional, end-to-end, API, and integration testing
  • Hands-on experience writing automated tests in TypeScript/JavaScript, C#, or Python
  • Hands-on experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium and Playwright, API testing tools such as Postman, CI/CD test execution, and quality/observability tools such as Datadog or similar

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail
  • Self-starter who understands how to effectively deal with ambiguity and with changing priorities
  • Working knowledge of agile testing methodologies, concepts, and practices throughout the SDLC process
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to provide clear feedback, ask clarifying questions, and work across QA, product, and engineering teams to drive quality outcomes

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Traditional office environment with low-to-moderate office noise (computers, phones and business conversations). The position may be remote from main offices.
  • May require flexibility in hours.
