Job description

Eaton's Electrical Sector - ARS division is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Custom Order Engineering team based at our Commercial Products & Assemblies (CPA) manufacturing facility in Sumter, SC. Relocation assistance is available to candidates that currently live at least 50 miles outside of Sumter, SC.

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for engineering customer orders including detailed review of layout and application of equipment, wiring and component selection, reconciles pricing and delivery requests, and performs various phases of order management from reconciliation through engineering and manufacturing information (MI) generation.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71,000 - $105,000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:
  • Reconcile pricing and lead time requests of incoming orders, using information supplied through Bid Manager, Vista and other communications from field sales and/or channel partners, verifying that the plant's manufacturing capabilities can support lead-time requests.
  • Verify that complete and accurate order entry information has been received from field sales and/or channel partners on incoming switchboard orders.
  • Support field sales and channel partners on post order entry issues.
  • Prepare Manufacturing Information (MI) for less complex switchboard configurations, utilizing MI Manager, AutoCAD, and Plant Order Manager.
  • Interface with customers, channel partners, Field-Sales, and EatonCare through participation in plant visits, training support and customer events.
  • Schedule orders for production, reconcile customer requested ship dates with product line standard lead times and manufacturing capacity.
  • Utilize AS400 programs (OMS and Allocation System) as well as Microsoft Excel to accomplish scheduling.
Qualifications:Basic (required) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Engineering based internship or co-op experience.
  • Basic understanding of electricity or electromechanical products/switchboards.
  • Previous experience with AutoCAD.
  • Previous experience utilizing MRP/ERP Systems.
