Job description

This internship provides hands-on exposure to quality and commissioning activities supporting the construction and startup of a new semiconductor manufacturing facility. Interns will work alongside experienced engineers, contractors, and project teams to gain practical knowledge of commissioning processes, quality standards, and system readiness across multiple engineering disciplines. This role offers the opportunity to develop technical skills while contributing to the successful delivery of a complex, high-tech construction project.

Responsibilities:
  • Train on quality and commissioning engineering principles across mechanical, electrical, wastewater, ultrapure water (UPW), chemical and gas, controls, and other critical utility systems
  • Assist with commissioning activities to support system verification, startup, and project readiness
  • Perform issue management within commissioning software platforms, including tracking, documentation, escalation, and follow-up of commissioning items
  • Support engineering teams in identifying, documenting, and resolving quality and commissioning issues throughout project execution
  • Participate in system walkthroughs, inspections, punch list verification, and functional testing activities
  • Maintain accurate commissioning documentation, testing records, and project deliverables
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, technicians, and cross-functional project teams to support commissioning milestones and construction activities
  • Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures while working in a construction environment
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.
Skills Required:
  • Strong technical aptitude within an engineering discipline: Candidates must be 4th year students or new graduates. 
  • Interest in quality, commissioning, construction, or semiconductor manufacturing environments
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to learn structured engineering and commissioning processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with engineering or commissioning software is beneficial
Education / Licenses / Certifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program (fourth year preferred) or a recent graduate in Electrical or Chemical Engineering (Positions for other disciplines have been filled at this time). 
  • Previous internship, co-op, laboratory, research or similar experience is a plus. 
  • Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable
