Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities & Job Duties (include, but are not limited to)
  • Drive the design, implementation, and deployment of software applications and systems in a fast-paced agile environment
  • Translate product requirements and UX designs into well-architected technical solutions
  • Work closely with product owner & the development team to flesh out requirements and solution design
  • Review the work of engineers of every skill level with conducting peer code reviews and providing constructive feedback
  • Lead triaging and troubleshooting of technical issues, seeing them through to resolution
  • Write unit and integration tests and perform other quality-oriented tasks as needed to ensure high quality software applications and systems
  • Interface with internal and external clients to ensure all technical solutions are considered and vetted
  • Improve departmental and operating efficiencies by developing technical standards and practices
  • Mentor and collaborate with peer software engineers through both high and low-level technical challenges
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and security

Required Qualifications
  • Possess bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/technical training
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering or related software development technical role with at least 2+ years in a senior or lead role
  • Strong experience with back-end technologies/frameworks such as .NET, Node.js, Python, or Ruby
  • Solid proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
  • Proficient in working with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservices architecture
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Understanding of application security, performance optimization, and testing frameworks
  • Excellent oral, written, and listening skills
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Extensive knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the software development field
  • Demonstrated experience as the primary SME (subject matter expert) of large, complex software products
  • Strong desire to learn and help others learn
