Job Description:
The Supervisor, Patient AR will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Patient AR team. This role functions as a leader and subject matter expert related to Patient AR.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day to day responsibilities of the Patient AR staff.

  • Ensure the team is well versed in customer service.

  • Ensures patient accounts are billed accurately, timely and in a compliant manner.

  • Review and approve collection adjustments (write-offs, collection agency referral, probate, etc.) within designated range.

  • Maintain patient bad debt at target levels.

  • Responsible for managing and maintaining Patient A/R days in compliance with established benchmarks.

  • Perform monthly staff account audits to determine accuracy and error ratings.

  • Work with manufacturer and Foundation/Patient Assistance representatives to streamline processes and ensure policy and procedures are followed.

  • Develop, review and update benchmarks for staff and monitor staff levels as appropriate to meet benchmarks.

  • Manage employee relations issues appropriately as needed and participate in disciplinary decisions and counseling process.

  • Work closely with members of management team to collaborate regarding shared issues.

  • Ability to monitor/access performance of self, other individuals, or organization to recommend improvement to workflow, processes, and procedures.

  • Knowledge of clinic office procedures, medical practice and medical terminology including drug indications.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Proficient in the use of end-user computer applications regarding productivity (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, payer sites), database and patient scheduling and other medical information systems.

Qualifications:
  • Customer Service background preferred

  • Knowledge of ICD10, CPT and HCPCS codes required.

  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience required.

  • 1+ years of experience in a community oncology setting preferred.

  • 3+ years of RCM healthcare experience required including authorizations.

  • 2+ years of supervisor experience preferred.
