Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Engineer assists the Quality Assurance Manager and performs technical quality assurance activities. They strive to support all customers, both internal and external to the company, in their never-ending quest to improve quality.
We are seeking a talented Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:
Customer and Company Support - 70%
  • Effectively communicating with customers, suppliers, and employees of Supply Technologies, as required.
  • Lead problem solving using 8D or 5 why methodology to provide robust corrective action solutions to customers by working with internal team and suppliers.
  • Provide visible, active support for the ISO9001 Quality system as well as the ISO14001 Environmental System, as applicable.
  • Perform quality/environmental management system audit as internal auditor
  • Perform supplier quality system audit and product/process audit
  • Support customer and third-party audits.
  • Maintain a safe and unobstructed work area, follow all safety guidelines, and utilize appropriate safety equipment and practices.
  • Practice positive customer relations and constructive problem-solving.
  • Validate customer concerns, on site if possible, and effectively communicate findings to all parties involved.
  • Oversee product containment and rework process at customer and branch.
  • Issue and drive supplier corrective actions by setting expectations and coaching.
  • Active participation in new product launches representing Quality as part of the APQP process, as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement by applying lean or six sigma approaches such as standard work, and process audit techniques

Teamwork - 20%
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Team in processing and resolving customer concerns, as required.
  • Provide the organization with technical support in new product introduction, operational excellence and customer service.
  • Understand and apply appropriate quality assurance and improvement processes.
  • Continuously upgrade skills and knowledge to improve personal effectiveness and provide training and guidance to less experienced/skilled personnel.
  • Recognize and evaluate the impact on others when making any decision.

Maintaining and Creating Documentation - 10%
  • Constructing complete and accurate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages ready for presentation to the customer.
  • Utilize the Inventory Management System to perform the required transactions and to generate reports and metrics, as requested.

Must Haves:
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline OR an offsetting experience.
  • APQP Experience.
  • Statistical analysis experience.
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) software experience.
  • ISO 9001 experience.
  • PPAP experience.
  • Experience in the use of basic inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Problem solving using 8D and 5 why methodology.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
