Job description

Application close date:

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

-

Operations: This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will provide technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Our responsibilities include translating engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight. Throughout the manufacturing process, we are responsible to improve quality, reduce cost, and to optimize build sequence. Our team also creates, interprets, and modifies work instructions and routings to convey procedures to technicians and trigger material planning.

If you share our passions and vision, thrive in a dynamic startup environment, excel with integrated multi-functional teams of individuals, are experienced and skilled in several relevant technologies (even if perhaps not in the aerospace industry), and continuously seek out opportunities to learn and improve, then we would love to hear from you!

Multiple positions available across our Business Units. You will be matched with an appropriate engineering team based on your skillset and experience and our current business needs.

Timeline: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

  • Denver, CO

  • Cape Canaveral, FL

  • Van Horn, TX

  • Huntsville, AL

  • Kent, WA

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree or higher in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering and Aerospace Engineering or related field.

  • Will have earned their degree within the last year and able to start by Fall 2026.

  • Demonstrated ability in component fabrication, precision assembly, and testing using a variety of methods, techniques, and materials.

  • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.

  • Relevant internship/co-op and/or hands-on experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities.

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.

  • Flexible and adaptable mindset.

  • Self-driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction.

Desired:

  • Experience in fabrication, machining, and rate production, including hands-on skills with processes like brazing or machining.

  • Ability to use industry-standard CAD tools (such as Creo, CATIA, or SolidWorks) to design or interpret engineering drawings and models.

  • Understanding of core concepts including torque theory, strength of materials, static/dynamic loads, and vibrations.

  • Participation in production flow and process optimization projects, including early lifecycle prototyping and development.

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.

  • Ability to write clear work instructions and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings.

  • Familiarity with design and use of tooling in manufacturing settings.

  • Involvement in assessing and optimizing manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality.

  • Basic coding ability (for example, Python) to support process automation or data analysis.

How to prepare:

We are solving challenging, new problems and we need people to represent a wide variety of perspectives. Experience in aerospace is not a requirement. We value broad academic and industry experiences such as Tech, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Automotive, and more.

When you apply, include your internship, co-curricular and research experience in your resume. Please also include the relevant programming languages you have used in these settings.
