Job description

Summary

Bear Mountain Services, a division of All Native Group and Ho Chunk, Incorporated, is seeking an exceptional Graphic Artist II to develop and modernizes high-fidelity visual assets for integration into the Navy Career Training Continuum (CTC) courseware. Reporting to the Graphic Artist III, you utilize the NETC Style Guide to create IMI Levels 1-3 media assets that enhance learner engagement and retention. You are responsible for the hands-on revision of legacy graphics during the Adobe Captivate conversion process, ensuring all visual content is optimized for Navy e-Learning (NeL) and local VDI environments. Your work directly supports the visualization of complex Naval systems for the accession-level training mission.

Essential Functions

  • Media Development: Create and refine 2-D visual artifacts, including animations and interactive elements, for inclusion in revised courseware.
  • Asset Modernization: Transform legacy media assets from the GFI into modernized, high-impact visuals that align with current NAVEDTRA 142 standards.
  • Technical Alignment: Collaborate with SMEs and ISDs to ensure that all graphic representations of Naval equipment are technically accurate and instructionally effective.
  • Optimization: Ensure all media files are optimized for performance within the TRANET VDI and local VDI ecosystems

 

Competencies.

  • Experience with the following software:
    • After Effects
    • Media Encoder
    • Audition
    • Animate
    • Illustrator
    • Photoshop
    • Premiere Pro
  • Experience in tracking and compositing.
  • Knowledge of Illustrator & Adobe Photoshop with a strong sense of design and typography.
  • Creative thinker able to create concept boards.
  • Possess excellent organizational and communication skills, while being able to present concept ideation to senior-level executives.
  • Ability to work on PC Platforms.
  • A strong work ethic, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to help mentor less experienced staff members a plus.
  • Willingness to step in and help staff with day-to-day workload when necessary. Invests in the team over self-interest.
  • Understanding project management software like Adobe Workfront or Microsoft Teams.

Work Environment

This job operates in executive settings with frequent engagement at the highest levels of Navy leadership. This role uses executive office equipment and classified communication systems. 

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands are typical of executive positions, with extensive travel and high-stress decision-making requirements. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time executive position with flexible hours based on mission requirements. 

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected 

 

Experience

2+ years (2-D) or 2-4 years (3-D) in digital media production, preferably in a military or industrial training context.

 

Education

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Media Arts, or equivalent.

Recognized as a specialty area expert in a specific Naval rating
