Job description

Purpose:

The Venue Services Event Supervisor oversees housekeeping operations during events and day-to-day operations at the Victoria Theatre, Benjamin & Marian Schuster Center for the Performing Arts, PNC Arts Annex, Arts Garage and Metropolitan Arts Center. Strong candidates will be committed to upholding the highest industry standards and enhancing the experience for all patrons and customers.

Essential Functions:

· Supervise and train designated shift personnel, reporting any issues or concerns to the Director.

· Ensure completion of all shift tasks and setups to the highest standards.

· Communicate with other Venue Services Supervisors between shifts to relay tasks or new information as needed.

· Regular tasks include:

o Cleaning all surfaces in restrooms and showers within designated areas.

o Stocking soap and paper products, reporting any malfunctions to the Manager.

o Spot cleaning windows regularly, with full cleaning as directed seasonally.

o Cleaning and polishing brass, stainless steel, and chrome fixtures.

o Vacuuming or cleaning floors.

o Dusting and cleaning all fixtures, ledges, and edges.

o Proper disposal of trash.

· Direct and participate in event setups, ensuring client and internal needs are met while adhering to safety procedures and company policies.

· Follow linen management system and clean after every event and setup.

· Familiarity with proper chemical use and disposal.

· Knowledge of proper equipment use, reporting any issues to the Director immediately.

· Involvement in stripping, waxing, sealing, and/or refinishing areas at regular intervals as directed.

· Maintain cleanliness of parking garage, sidewalks, and outdoor areas, ensuring they are free of litter. Keep outside glass on all doors clean, weather permitting.

· Ability to take and provide direction, and work independently as needed.

· Wear a radio for department communication daily, respond to calls, and delegate needs.

· Promptly report any unsafe conditions or damage.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

· High School Diploma or GED preferred.

· 1-2 years of housekeeping experience required, supervisory experience preferred.

· Certifications in chemical use, equipment operation and repair, or similar skills are preferred.

· Ability to motivate staff to deliver quality work within tight timeframes while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

· Effective collaboration with a variety of personalities and successful interaction with all levels of the organization.

· Working knowledge of various cleaning methods, supplies, and equipment.

· Must be able to work during events shifts. Afternoons, Evenings, Weekends

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This role also requires the ability to hear.
