Description:

Red Oak Behavioral Health is seeking passionate, motivated graduate students pursuing a Master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Education, or Social Work to join our team as Therapy Interns. This internship provides hands-on experience delivering therapeutic services to children and adolescents in school and community settings under licensed supervision.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intake interviews and assessments for children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional challenges
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling under supervision
  • Develop and update treatment plans in accordance with OhioMHAS standards
  • Complete documentation within required timeframes (48 hours from client contact)
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators in school settings
  • Educate clients and families about diagnosis, treatment, and resources
  • Coordinate care and connect clients with community resources
  • Participate in supervision, trainings, and staff meetings

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Marriage & Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Education, or Social Work
  • Eligible to complete an internship by the State of Ohio by obtaining the proper licensure
  • Commitment to ethical, trauma-informed, and client-centered care
  • Ability to work collaboratively in school and community settings
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree from an accredited University or College in the field of Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or Social Work and eligible to complete an internship.

  • Demonstrated experience in the treatment of children, adolescents, adults and families individually and in group modality.
  • Ability to reasonably problem-solve complex and possible crisis mental health client problems.
  • Ability to develop and write clear, concise documents involving client outcome reporting requirements.
  • Effective time management and interviewing skills.
  • Acceptance and dedication toward the Mission of Red Oak Behavioral Health.
  • Possession of a valid Ohio driver’s license.
