Job description

The Phlebotomy Technician collects quality blood samples using various methods (capillary, venous, ultrasound) while ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include patient identification, specimen labeling, handling, and transportation across all age groups in general care areas, pediatrics, the Emergency Department, Intensive Care, and Trauma Units. Must maintain patient confidentiality and uphold Tampa General Hospital's vision and values.

  • High school diploma, GED, certificate from a verified Phlebotomy Training Program 
  • Previous experience as a Phlebotomist is preferred but not required. Completion of coursework from an accredited program with at least one month of internship is also acceptable
