An Internship Part 135 Pilot is a pilot-in-training who works as an intern for an aviation company operating under Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 135, which governs commercial, non-scheduled air charter and commuter operations. These internships provide hands-on experience in flight operations, aircraft procedures, and regulatory compliance under the supervision of experienced pilots. The role is designed to help aspiring commercial pilots gain practical skills, build flight hours, and learn about the unique requirements of Part 135 operations, often serving as a pathway to a professional piloting career.

What do internship Part 135 pilots do?

Your daily responsibilities may involve pre-flight inspections, assisting with flight planning, communicating with dispatch, and learning operational protocols specific to on-demand and scheduled air taxi services. Interns are often paired with experienced captains, allowing for hands-on learning and mentorship in real-world scenarios. This collaborative environment helps build practical flying skills while introducing you to the regulatory and customer service aspects unique to Part 135 operations.
