Job description

Spring/Summer 2026 internship is available to students who are currently a sophomore or junior in college. Freshman and seniors are not eligible.
Time commitment: You can choose between 15 - 20 hours a week during the Spring 2026 semester and then work 40 hours a week during the summer.
Do not apply if you are unable to work onsite at our San Diego HQ. Only candidates who are located in San Diego, California will be considered.
Centura Wealth Advisory, a non-commission, fee-only SEC Registered Investment Advisory firm located in San Diego, is seeking a Finance Intern to join our team. We provide Wealth Advisory Services including financial planning, investment management, and legacy planning to affluent individuals, business entities, and non-profit organizations through our Liberated Wealth (SM) process. This internship offers undergraduate students an opportunity to gain meaningful experience in a professional business environment while developing skills in investment management, financial planning, and client service.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform research on ETFs, stocks, mutual funds, bonds, and other securities using various research services
  • Maintain and update portfolio analytical material, investment documentation, and client data
  • Identify, collect, and present research materials on alternative investments; attend webinars as assigned
  • Prepare custodian paperwork, client applications, transfer paperwork, and service forms, tracking progress and completion
  • Assist in development of presentations for clients and prospects
  • Prepare financial exhibits including balance sheets, cash flow projections, retirement projections, estate summaries, and insurance summaries
  • Support client communications, including information requests, follow-ups, and problem resolution
  • Learn and utilize key financial software platforms including Salesforce, Morningstar, Orion, Wealth Access, and others
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong work ethic with exceptional listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, follow directions, and adapt quickly to new challenges
  • Organizational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfort with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube)
  • Basic knowledge of financial and investment concepts, including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and insurance products
  • Inquisitive, resourceful, and eager to learn in a dynamic team setting

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate CFP-affiliated program
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Majors: Business, Marketing, Sales, Finance, or Mathematics
  • Proficiency with standard office equipment and software
