Position Overview:
Our partner is seeking a passionate and mission-focused Mid-Level Software Engineer to support the AERO team and provide FAA and public air traffic control insights to NGA customers. This is an opportunity to work with a modern technology stack while rapidly developing intelligence analysis products that address critical mission challenges for the agency and its users.
The ideal candidate is energized by modern architectures, enjoys solving challenging technical problems, and can contribute across the software development lifecycle while working closely with other engineers and mission stakeholders.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise software applications using modern technologies, including React.js and Python.
  • Develop high-performance front-end applications using React.js.
  • Develop enterprise applications using Python.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful web services and APIs.
  • Contribute to microservice architecture, design, and development.
  • Work with relational, spatial, and NoSQL databases.
  • Design and develop database solutions supporting enterprise applications.
  • Work with AWS cloud environments and AWS tooling, including S3.
  • Translate business and mission requirements into scalable, production-ready technical solutions.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, technical teams, and mission stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Contribute to modern software development practices and continuous
    improvement initiatives.

Required Skills/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • 4+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering/development.
  • Experience with Python enterprise application development.
  • Experience building high-performance applications using React.js.
  • Foundational knowledge of Node.js.
  • Experience with web services architecture, design, and development.
  • Experience with relational database design.
  • Experience with spatial database design.
  • Experience with NoSQL database design.
  • Experience with microservice architecture, design, and development.
