- Experience with the core AWS services (EC2, EMR, RDS, S3, Cloud Watch, Cloud Monitor, IAM, Lambda, Kinesis).
- Good background in Linux/Unix administration and Ability to spin off new instances.
- VPC/networking experience is a huge plus
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Having used {{ ECS or EKS}} in the past is optional.
- Proficiency in at least one language from our stack: Java/Python/Scala
- Strong notions of security best practices (e.g. using IAM Roles, KMS, etc.).
- Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and the ELK stack.
- Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems.
- Knowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Experience with building or maintaining cloud-native applications.
- Experience with the serverless approaches using AWS Lambda is a plus. For example, the Serverless Application Model (AWS SAM).
- Ability to use the AWS service APIs, AWS CLI, and SDKs to write applications
- Ability to write code using AWS security best practices
