Description:

The Next.js Front End Developer supports design, development, testing, maintenance, and enhancement of accessible, user-friendly portal interfaces. This role builds front-end components for data entry, validation, workflow processing, reporting, role-based access, administrative functions, user guidance, and responsive usability across reporting periods.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, maintain, and enhance accessible web interfaces for the DD Council reporting portal.
  • Implement front-end functionality for data entry, validation messages, workflow processing, reporting screens, user roles, audit-related views, and system administration features.
  • Coordinate with back-end/API, DevSecOps, QA/accessibility, visualization, training, and project management staff to deliver integrated portal functionality.
  • Support UAT, usability validation, defect correction, production deployment, operational support, and user feedback-driven enhancements.
  • Ensure front-end deliverables align with HHS security, privacy, Section 508/WCAG, plain-language, cognitive accessibility, and documentation requirements.
Requirements:
  • Experience developing, testing, maintaining, or enhancing secure front-end web applications using Next.js or comparable modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience building user-friendly interfaces for data entry, workflow management, validation, reporting, role-based access, or administrative functionality.
  • Familiarity with Section 508/WCAG accessibility implementation, keyboard navigation, responsive design, usability, and plain-language/cognitive accessibility principles.
  • Experience integrating front-end interfaces with APIs, authentication/authorization, audit logging, and reporting workflows.
  • Ability to support UAT, defect resolution, production readiness, documentation, and knowledge transfer for Government-owned systems.
