Job Summary
If you're the kind of person who enjoys solving complex puzzles, keeping critical systems running smoothly, and making sure every detail adds up exactly as it should, this role is for you. As a Nuclear Material Control and Accountability (NMC&A) Statistician at Centrus Energy Corp., you'll help support the programs and safeguards that ensure nuclear materials are tracked, protected, and managed with precision. You'll work alongside technical experts, operations teams, and regulatory stakeholders to help power one of the most advanced energy industries in the world.
What You Will Do
You'll support and enhance the Nuclear Materials Control & Accountability (NMC&A) program by reviewing and revising applicable procedures and assisting in the preparation of reports for the NRC and NMMSS. You will also assist in propagation of variance, development of control charts and sampling plans, support of measurement system qualification, and analysis of shipper-receiver differences. The successful candidate at this level will have an understanding of statistical methods as applied in the nuclear industry. The MC&A Technical Specialist is an essential function that provides independent verification and validation of non-destructive assay (NDA) measurements used to demonstrate nuclear material control and accountability.

  • 1+ years of professional experience in statistics, engineering, data analysis, laboratory operations, nuclear operations, or another technical environment
  • Foundational understanding of statistical concepts such as variance analysis, sampling plans, trending, and control charts
  • Strong computer proficiency with programs such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Adobe for reporting, recordkeeping, presentations, and data analysis
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a "Q" level security clearance

A Successful Candidate Brings:
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Nuclear Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline
  • Internship, co-op, academic research, or professional experience involving statistical analysis or NRC or DOE Regulated technical environments
  • Previous experience supporting an NMC&A program
  • Exposure to nuclear operations, safeguards, accountability programs, laboratory environments, or measurement systems
  • Familiarity with statistical software, databases, or data visualization tools used for technical analysis and reporting
  • An active "Q" or "L" security clearance

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.
