Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly organized and creative individual to support the execution of in-game entertainment and event production for the 25-26 NBA Season. This role will play a key part in developing engaging fan experiences, coordinating live talent, and maintaining the behind-the-scenes logistics that bring our game presentation to life.
LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP:
  • October 1, 2026 - April 30, 2027. (Duration may change because of performance and/or business needs)
  • Mandatory In-Person Internship Development Session. (Monday mornings.)
  • Must be able to work up to 29 hours per week (3-4 days/wk.), which may include nights and weekends as needed.

JOB FUNCTION:
  • Conduct research across NBA archives, social media, pop culture, and league-wide entertainment trends to support creative development, fan engagement, and the overall in-arena experience.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of in-game content, including halftime shows, anthem performances, pregame entertainment, theme nights, contests, fan features, and sponsor-related elements.
  • Support rehearsals and game-day preparation by helping organize back-of-house areas, production materials, props, uniforms, credentials, signage, and other event needs.
  • Assist with the movement and cueing of performers, contestants, special guests, fan participants, and other talent according to production scripts and timing cues.
  • Support live event execution by assisting with camera shots, performances, contests, fan moments, and other in-game production needs.
  • Help prepare and organize scripts, rundowns, timing sheets, production notes, event-day documents, and post-event recaps.
  • Support communication between Game Presentation, Entertainment, Production, Arena Operations, and other internal teams.
  • Assist with special events, auditions, promotional shoots, community appearances, and other non-game-day productions as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to attend all Mavs home games and other events as needed.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and oversee multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to engage effectively with diverse coworkers and clients.
  • A team first mentality, enthusiastic, with an adaptable strong work ethic.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must be a current college Sophomore, Junior, or Senior majoring in Marketing, Advertising, or related field.

  • Experience working with production/promotions/events in a marketing department is preferred.
