Job description

Job Title:
Summer 2027 Intern - Quality Management (QMS)
Summary:
As a Quality Management Intern at Momentive's Waterford, NY site, you will support projects that improve quality processes, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Working with Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams, you will develop process maps, identify improvement opportunities, support AS9100 and NADCAP certification activities, and help create training resources. This hands-on internship offers valuable experience in manufacturing quality systems, continuous improvement, and process optimization. Students with coursework in quality principles, continuous improvement, statistics, or project management will be well-positioned to excel in this role.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Develop Process maps of the QC Processes to identify improvements. Plan and execute improvements, identify long-term process changes needed.
  • Develop Process maps of the QA Processes to identify improvements. Plan and execute improvements, identify long-term process changes needed.
  • Support of AS9100 Certification and NADCAP certification
  • Develop Product Quality Engineer training plan for new engineer onboarding

Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent field of study.
  • Attention to detail - ability to document new processes and procedures.
  • Self-starter - Proactively identify new opportunities to drive efficiencies in Quality and Service at Waterford, NY site.
  • Computer skills including Excel and Powerpoint. Minitab or other statistical analysis tool preferred.
  • Knowledge of Basic statistics and/or successful completion of university-level mathematics courses.
  • Prior experience training or teaching technical topics to small groups considered a plus.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software platforms to support project work.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0

Program Minimum Qualifications:
  • The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.
  • The candidate is expected to be available 40 hours a week for a period of 10-12 weeks between the months of May and August.

Base Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00
