What is an internship music touring?

Internship Music Touring positions are entry-level roles designed for students or recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience in the live music industry, particularly in the area of organizing and supporting music tours. Interns in this field may assist with tour logistics, artist relations, marketing, ticketing, and administrative tasks. These positions offer valuable exposure to the behind-the-scenes work involved in planning and executing successful music tours, making them ideal for those aspiring to careers in concert promotion, artist management, or tour production.

What does an internship music touring do?

Interns in a music touring department often assist with coordinating tour logistics, such as booking travel, managing itineraries, and supporting communication between artists, venues, and promoters. A common challenge is adapting to the fast-paced environment, especially when last-minute changes arise or when juggling multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Interns may also be involved in preparing tour documentation, helping with marketing materials, and tracking ticket sales. This role offers hands-on experience and the opportunity to collaborate closely with seasoned professionals, providing valuable insight into the live music industry.

  • Coordinating with agents, artist teams, managers, labels, promoters, ticketing partners, and other external partners
  • Assisting with creative brainstorming for tour marketing campaigns
  • Supporting presentations, partner pre-sale requests, department systems, and process improvements

  • Covering client shows when appropriate to support artist and agent teams

Ideal candidates may bring:

  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Professionalism, discretion, and comfort working with confidential information

  • Proficiency with tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Box, Adobe Creative Suite, Meta Business Manager, or related platforms

We are interested in candidates ranging from entry-level/early-career assistants to experienced coordinators who can support high-volume campaign execution with limited supervision. Location: Future opportunities may be based in Chicago, New York, Nashville, Los Angeles, or other THETEAM office locations depending on business need.
