SUMMARY OF POSITION

Kinsley is seeking self-motivated, dependable, and hard-working Mini Excavator Operators and Asphalt Laborers to join our utility paving and patching crews based out of our Ephrata, PA office. Successful candidates should be able to work effectively in a crew environment and have a general knowledge of asphalt paving, utility work, and patching operations.

Please note that this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.


TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

MINI EXCAVATOR OPERATOR

  • Operate mini excavator and related heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Preform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
  • Read and interpret plans, grades and job specifications.
  • Assist with setting up and break down of paving equipment as needed.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
  • Support other crew members during paving operations when required.


ASPHALT LABORER

  • Shovel and lute asphalt.
  • Take and understand instructions from crew leaders.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of paving.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.


REQUIREMENTS

    • This position requires eligibility to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical certification throughout employment.
    • Valid PA driver's license and reliable transportation required.
    • Previous experience operating mini excavator and other heavy equipment is a must.
    • Punctuality and dependability are required, must have transportation to get to assigned job sites.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
    • Previous asphalt paving experience is preferred.
    • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs and moving whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
    • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during work.
    • Ability to work in a crew-based environment.
