Job description

Hamilton Medical is looking for a Production Supervisor that will be responsible for the supervision of people, equipment, and processes within their assigned work center(s). Primary responsibility of the supervisor includes, but is not limited to, team safety, team morale, product quality, on-time delivery/schedule adherence, and operational cost. This role is important for setting the cadence, atmosphere, and collaboration of the production floor. A strong candidate brings consistent leadership, prompt and effective decision making, and holds the team to high expectations. Other responsibilities include:

  • Leads by example in all aspects of the job's responsibilities: Safety, People, Quality, Production, and Cost.
  • Responsible for the safety and well-being of all personnel and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Actively supports production output by working on the line regularly, including operating equipment, workstations, or assisting with material handling tasks.
  • Conducts regular safety audits and perform ergonomic assessments for assigned work centers.
  • Creates a positive workplace environment, excellent team morale, and fosters an inclusive, team-oriented atmosphere consistent with our company's values. Ensures equitable treatment is given to all employees.
  • Drives employee development through coaching, performance evaluations, crosstraining plans, and coordination of training and hiring activities.
  • Ensures adequate staff coverage for all shifts and areas of responsibility, accounting for employee vacations and unplanned absences.
  • Ensure that product quality is maintained and improved upon in accordance with the company's philosophy and expectations.
  • Facilitates and leads root-cause investigations for defects and downtime.
  • Builds and adjusts daily/weekly schedules and ensures production goals are achieved through active metric monitoring.
  • Leads department-level continuous improvement initiatives, including maintaining 5S and floor appearance standards.
  • Responsible for all manufacturing costs associated with assigned work center(s), including but not limited to, consumable spending, scrap, and direct labor/overtime.
  • Reports equipment downtime and supports maintenance routing.
  • Communicates effectively at all levels and collaborates with crossfunctional partners (Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Warehouse) to optimize production flow and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Other duties as assigned

Shift for this role will be 3:30pm - 12:00am, Monday - Friday. 


  • Demonstrated analytical/problem solving experience using data to drive solutions.
  • Demonstrated situational leadership and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Willingness to accept change and the ability to affect policy and technical changes with subordinates and peer groups.
  • Understanding of Lean/CI tools, 5S principles, and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to interpret KPIs and drive corrective actions.
  • Position requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Self-motivated, Self-Starter.

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Business, or related discipline from an accredited university.
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity or internship role.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
