Completes assessments as indicated and documents patients response to treatment. Plans, organizes and conducts therapy sessions on an individual and group basis, and evaluates process of patients. The purpose of Activity therapy is to facilitate positive changes in patients basic functional ability, achieve improved independent functioning, and to make the hospital experience positive and growth oriented. We're seeking a compassionate and engaging Activities Therapist to join our Behavioral Health team.   In this role, you'll lead therapeutic groups and activity-based interventions that promote patients' emotional, social, and cognitive well-being.

We're especially interested in candidates with a background in Music Therapy or experience facilitating group therapy, but we also welcome Recreation Therapists, Art Therapists, and Counselors who are passionate about helping patients thrive. New graduates are encouraged to apply, making this an excellent opportunity to launch your career in behavioral health while receiving support from an experienced interdisciplinary team.

Education: Bachelor's degree and internship in related area required.
Experience: Experience working with patients with mental illness and chemical dependency
Other: Individual must be knowledgeable of mental illness disorders and be able to provide appropriate therapeutic interventions that enable the patient's recovery. Skills in providing educational and group therapy interventions, assessment of patients psychosocial functioning, and knowledge of appropriate community resources.
Preferred Experience: Experience working with patients across the lifespan (pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric)
Preferred Certifications: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), Registered Art Therapist (ATR), Certified Music Therapist or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
