Senior Value Engineering Risk Lead (184774)

Overview

Position to support the Value Engineering/Risk Director in developing strategic visions and tactical plans, participating in hiring, managing workshare and project assignments, leading VE workshops, cost and schedule risk workshops or related assignments nationwide. Work collaborates with multiple Business Groups and markets to support client project needs. Involvement in all project phases and business development, including proposals, staffing, sub‑consultant identification. Travel required for project pursuits nationwide.

Location and Travel

Location: United States – Washington – Bellevue (primary). Travel: approximately 50% of time, ranging 25% to 75%.

Responsibilities

Lead and facilitate Value Engineering workshops; manage cost and schedule risk analysis workshops; support project development and business development activities; maintain client relationships; develop and manage strategic marketing programs; engage with industry associations; collaborate with client managers, technical directors, business group directors, operations staff; contribute to HDR's employee‑owned culture.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering registration (PE)
  • Certified Value Specialist (CVS) with at least 5 years of VE workshop experience on major infrastructure projects
  • Track record of success maintaining client relationships with public agencies or private entities
  • Minimum five years leading cost and schedule risk analysis (CSRA) workshops or VE services for major infrastructure projects
  • Experience developing and managing strategic marketing programs and client relationship portfolios
  • Active involvement with industry associations and visible profile in transportation markets
  • Cooperative work style with client managers, technical directors, business group directors, and operations staff
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 75% of time
Required Qualifications
  • Certified Value Specialist (CVS) with six plus years leading VE workshops or PE license with six plus years leading CSRA workshops on major infrastructure projects
  • Maintain client relationships with public agencies or private entities, with a successful track record
  • Experience in developing and managing strategic marketing programs
  • Experience in managing a wide range of client relationships and specific program or project pursuits
  • Experience with industry associations to maintain a visible profile in transportation and other key markets
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with client managers, technical directors, business group directors and operations staff
  • Demonstrated commitment to HDR values and active participation in the employee‑owned culture
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and U.S. passport, or ability to acquire one
