Real Estate Investment Analyst - Internship

Job description

BricksFolios Real Estate Investment Analyst - Internship for High School and College Students

The BricksFolios Real Estate Investment Analyst Internship is a selective, cohort-based program for current high school and college students (freshmen and sophomores) who want to learn how real estate investment decisions actually get made - the research, the underwriting, the risk-and-return tradeoffs, and the judgment calls that separate a good deal from a bad one.

This isn't a "shadow a business" internship. Interns work specifically inside real estate investment analysis: reading markets, evaluating deals, building cash-flow logic, and defending a thesis in front of people who will push back on it. The skills are durable on purpose - research rigor, financial reasoning, and clear argumentation don't get automated away, even as more routine tasks do.

Interns work in small teams alongside mentors, build toward a real Capstone analysis, and present their investment thesis live at Demo Day - not a showcase, a defense.

Cohort 2 Program Details:

Six virtual sessions, then Demo Day.

Program Dates Virtual Sessions: July 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, and 24, 2026 Time: 10 AM – 11:15 AM Pacific Time

Location: Remote (All virtual)

Final Demo Day: July 26, 2026 (Virtual) Time: 11 AM – 3 PM Pacific Time

Responsibilities:

As a Real Estate Investment Analyst Intern, you will:

Market & Investment Research

  • Research residential real estate markets and comparable properties.
  • Track investment trends and emerging opportunities in real asset markets.
  • Translate raw market data into a usable point of view.

Investment Analysis

  • Build and reason through cash-flow and return scenarios on sample properties.
  • Evaluate deals against risk, return, and cap-rate frameworks.
  • Work through real-world investment case studies with your team.
  • Contribute to portfolio and capital-allocation discussions.

Team-Based Deal Work

  • Work in a small team of 4–6 interns on a shared Capstone analysis.
  • Participate in live mentoring sessions and working sessions.
  • Push your team's thinking forward — and have your own pushed back on.
  • Hit milestones on a fixed timeline, the way a real deal team would.

Communication & Defense

  • Write up findings as an investment memo, not a slide of bullet points.
  • Practice presenting numbers and reasoning to a skeptical audience.
  • Defend your thesis and your assumptions at Demo Day.

Professional Growth

  • Build the habits of structured decision-making under uncertainty.
  • Strengthen the communication skills that let good analysis actually land.
  • Leave with a portfolio of real artifacts, not a certificate of attendance.

Qualifications:

You must be currently be:

  • High School Students (Grades 9–12)
  • College Freshmen
  • College Sophomores

What tends to predict success here

We're not looking for finance backgrounds. We're looking for:

  • Genuine curiosity about how investment decisions get made
  • Comfort sitting with an open-ended problem instead of needing the answer handed to you
  • Willingness to be wrong in front of your team and revise
  • Follow-through — this is six sessions plus a Capstone, not a one-off
  • Interest in real estate, investing, markets, or business strategy broadly

No prior experience or finance coursework required. We care more about how you think than what you've already done.

What you'll be able to do by the end

  • Read a real estate market with some actual rigor
  • Build a basic cash-flow and return model for an investment property
  • Reason through risk/return and cap-rate tradeoffs
  • Write an investment memo that holds up to questions
  • Stand behind a thesis in a live Q&A
