Job description

Summary

Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 3+ years of consulting engineering experience to support the design and delivery of energy-efficient building systems and complex infrastructure projects.

This role combines technical design, project management, and client interaction, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated leader with a strong technical foundation who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

You will be involved in all phases of the project lifecycle, contributing to both design and production while supporting clients and mentoring team members.

Duties & Responsibilities

Electrical Design & Engineering

  • Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, and emergency power systems
  • Design UPS systems and renewable energy solutions
  • Coordinate low-voltage systems including IT, security, safety, and access control
  • Produce designs for bidding and construction across a variety of projects

Technical Documentation & Analysis

  • Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Research and analyze client requirements, design standards, and system feasibility
  • Apply engineering principles to design, evaluate, and improve systems and components
  • Select and specify system components to meet project requirements

Project Coordination & Communication

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients to meet project deadlines
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders through both written and verbal interaction
  • Participate in internal and external project coordination efforts

Construction Administration

  • Review contractor submittals including shop drawings and technical documentation
  • Ensure designs conform to project specifications and contract requirements

Team Collaboration & Development

  • Support and mentor team members through collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Contribute to a positive team environment aligned with company core values
  • Assist in training and development of junior staff

Qualifications & Requirements

Required

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in MEP or consulting engineering design
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • Strong understanding of electrical system design and infrastructure
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit

Preferred

  • FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification or progress toward PE licensure
  • Experience with energy systems and renewable energy design
  • Experience with construction administration and submittal review processes
