Job description
1. Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics; Master’s degree preferred. Must be licensed by the Arkansas Board for Orthotics and Prosthetics. ABCOP or BOC Certification for Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics required.
2. Training and Experience: Three (3) or more years of work experience with Durable Medical Equipment. Knowledge of prefabricated orthotics is strongly preferred.
3. Job Knowledge: Must have a complete understanding of diagnoses, orthotic prescription, measurement, fitting and follow up of all types of orthotic devices. Must have excellent communication skills and be highly organized.
4. Safety Sensitive: YES
In the interest of protecting the health and safety of all patients, associates, and guests, Unity Health has classified some positions as “safety sensitive.” A “safety sensitive” position is any job position in which impaired performance could result in harm to the health and/or safety of self or others. The Certified Orthotist / Prosthetist will work directly with Physicians, therapists, and all health and allied health professionals to design, measure, fit and provide follow up care for patients referred for care.
