Job description

Position Summary:
Globus Medical is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about medical image processing algorithms. You will be part of a pluri-disciplinary development team of 5 to 10 engineers, dedicated to the development of a complete surgical robotic system. You are a self-starter, detail-oriented, organized and deadline driven. You also possess strong communication skills, a "roll your sleeves up" mentality and be able to work in an "agile" structure with changing priorities. The job location will be at the Globus US Headquarter in Audubon, PA (near Philadelphia).
Essential Functions:
  • Designs and develops medical image processing algorithms and integrates them into the back-end of our next generation of our medical software
  • Tests and fine tunes algorithms and integration within software in our in-house surgical wet lab facility
  • Manages all aspects of assigned projects and ensure timely completion of tasks while remaining in full compliance with Globus' medical software development environment and quality system
  • Contributes to system design verification and validation activities to ensure designs meet requirements
  • Periodically attends surgical cases to understand context and end-user (i.e., surgeon) requirements
  • Ensures compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and upholding the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties of Globus
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies. Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:
  • Proactive and autonomous mindset supported by problem solving skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills. You will be interacting with English speaking colleagues located in the USA and Switzerland daily.
  • On-site job position.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time and attend cadaver labs and surgeries in US and EU.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years or a Master's degree with 3-5 years in a similar role in an international, matrixed and fast-growing environment.
  • Object oriented C++ development, including C++17 and later.
  • Excellent knowledge of 2D/3D linear algebra (affine transformation matrices), 3D meshes.
  • Be comfortable using standard software development environments (VisualStudio, VisualStudio Code) and GIT.
  • Medical device or life sciences experience are an asset.
  • Medical image processing (e.g., X-ray, CT scans, MRI) experience is a big asset.
  • Middle-end and/or front-end development experience (with Qt and QML) are an asset.
  • TDD (test driven development)
