We are seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Intern to join our Content team for Summer 2026. This role blends editorial content creation with social media strategy, giving you hands-on experience across both domains. You will collaborate closely with the editorial and social media teams to produce engaging and shareable content that aligns with our brand voice and appeals to our audience.
What You'll Do
  • Assist in drafting and scheduling daily social media posts across platforms, ensuring content aligns with Complex's unique tone and voice.
  • Support the team in sourcing, curating, and sharing trending news and culturally relevant moments across the verticals we cover.
  • Monitor and engage with the Complex audience through comments, direct messages, and replies, helping maintain an active and positive community.
  • Research emerging social media trends, viral moments, and platform updates to share with the broader team.
  • Assist in brainstorming ideas for platform-specific content, memes, and real-time posts.
  • Help track social media performance and analytics, reporting key takeaways and insights to the team.
  • Collaborate with editorial and video teams to support the promotion of articles, videos, and other content.
  • Assist in covering major cultural events, such as sneaker drops, album releases, or trending sports moments, through live posts or content support.

Who You Are
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook) and a strong understanding of what performs well on each platform.
