Job Description Mechanical Engineer - Robotics Location: Fredericksburg, VA Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $90,000-$110,000 Position Overview M Force Partners is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer - Robotics to support the design and development of robotic and electromechanical systems. This Mechanical Engineer - Robotics role will participate in all phases of engineering including requirements analysis, concept development, mechanical design, implementation, testing, and documentation. The ideal Mechanical Engineer - Robotics will have strong machine design experience and an understanding of robotics fundamentals such as kinematics, sensors, motors, and mechanical systems.

This individual will work on multiple engineering projects while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities Design robotic and electromechanical systems from concept through testing and implementation Develop 3D CAD designs using SolidWorks or similar CAD platforms Create production drawings for machined parts, weldments, fabricated components, and assemblies Perform structural analysis using hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Select materials to optimize strength, weight, cost, and system performance Design mechanical systems including transmissions, actuators, motors, sensors, and linkages Conduct engineering experiments and analyze results to support product development Support the development of robotic devices, sensors, instruments, and mechatronic systems Apply knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes to support cost-effective designs Debug mechanical systems and support integration with electrical and control systems Document design work and maintain project engineering documentation Support additional engineering projects as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 0-3 years of experience in robotics, mechanical design, or a similar engineering role Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) Knowledge of robotics fundamentals including kinematics, statics, and dynamics Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools Understanding of machining and manufacturing processes Strong analytical, problem-solving, and design skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Preferred Experience Internship experience in a manufacturing or robotics environment Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Experience sizing actuators such as brushless motors and transmissions Experience working with strain gauges, load cells, and position sensors Familiarity with sensors such as hall-effect, angular position, or temperature sensors Job presented by M Force Partners M Force Partners is a specialized recruitment partner connecting top-tier talent with leading organizations.
