Hatch is seeking a Transit Engineering Student with interest in Rail and Transit for an internship starting September 2026. Reporting to Transit Projects you will support offices globally working from our Vancouver, B.C. office location.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Be working as part of a design team, assisting with conceptual, preliminary and detailed design; site inspection; design calculations, report writing.
  • Coordination with engineers, designers and related disciplines as required to assist with project deliverables.
  • Preparing design submissions and other technical documents.

You bring to the role:

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering. Relevant courses involve: Civil, Structural, Geotechnics, Utilities and Project Management.
  • Experience in the use of AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or Civil3D.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
  • Problem solving skills and analytical.
  • Competencies (knowledge, skill, attributes):
  • Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projectsย 
  • Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challengesย 
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.ย
