Afternoon Lead Teachers - District 11 Expansion Programs | Colorado Springs, CO
is excited to continue growing across Colorado Springs! As part of our 2026-2027 school year expansion, we are opening 7 new programs in District 11, and we are looking for energetic, dependable, and student-focused Lead Teachers to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to help launch brand-new after-school programs, build meaningful relationships with students and families, and make a lasting impact within local school communities.
Start Date & Training
This position officially begins August 3, 2026. The first week will consist of paid orientation and training to prepare staff for a successful launch of the school year beginning August 12, 2026.
Training will include program expectations, student engagement strategies, curriculum implementation, licensing and safety procedures, behavior support, and Leading Edge program culture.
Position Overview
Lead Teachers play an essential role in creating safe, engaging, and enriching after-school experiences for students across District 11 programs.
Team members will primarily be assigned to a consistent school site where they will build relationships with students, families, and staff while supporting daily program operations and enrichment activities.
As part of a collaborative and growing organization, Lead Teachers may occasionally be asked to support another nearby Leading Edge program when operational needs arise. Advance notice will be provided whenever possible.
This role is ideal for individuals who are adaptable, team-oriented, student-focused, and excited to grow within an expanding organization. Team members who demonstrate flexibility, leadership, and strong program performance may also be considered for future advancement opportunities within Leading Edge.
Compensation & Schedule
Part-Time After-School Position
District 11 - Colorado Springs, CO
$18-$22/hour based on experience, education, and placement
Biweekly Pay
Key Responsibilities
• Implement and support student-focused Leading Edge curriculum
• Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for students
• Ensure compliance with program policies and state licensing requirements
• Maintain accurate documentation and administrative records
• Build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and school partners
• Support teamwork and daily site operations
• Maintain appropriate staff-to-student ratios
• Uphold professionalism, positivity, and confidentiality
• Perform additional duties as needed to support program success
Curriculum & Student Engagement
Leading Edge programs are designed to provide enriching, engaging experiences that support the whole child through creativity, movement, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
Each month, staff are provided with themed curriculum options and enrichment activities aligned with our six core labs. Lead Teachers help bring those activities to life while creating positive connections and memorable experiences for students.
Six Core Labs
• Challenge Lab - Critical thinking games and friendly competitions
• Art Enrichment Lab - Creative projects using a variety of artistic mediums
• Homework Lab - Structured academic support
• Physical Lab - Games and activities promoting movement and teamwork
• Reading Lab - Literacy enrichment and group reading activities
• STEM Lab - Hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math projects
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 455 hours of verifiable experience working with school-aged children
• Availability for all program hours
• Reliable means of transportation to assigned program sites
• Comfortable working in active, fast-paced school-age environments
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and team members

Hiring Process
Selected applicants will first be invited to participate in an initial virtual screening conducted through the Zoom platform with the Recruiting Team.
